When we’re first contacted and told of a pet in need our whole team goes straight to work! Someone will work with you to get your pet scheduled in a timely manner. Sometimes that will mean starting with a virtual appointment as this is often the quickest route to diagnostics and treatment. We then obtain all pertinent medical records from your pet’s primary care veterinarian so that Dr. Rizzo can become familiar with your pet’s diagnosis (or suspected diagnosis) before she meets you. We ask that you participate in this early stage by filling out our “Get-to-know-you” paperwork before your appointment.

On the day of your initial consultation, Dr. Rizzo will learn more about you and your pet. She will discuss your goals and caregiving philosophy with you. Then she will talk with you about your pet’s diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options.

Do not be fooled by our compact, mobile clinic. We are outfitted with or have access to most technologies needed to learn more about your pet’s cancer including lab analyzers, X-ray, and ultrasound. In addition, we are able to collect additional samples when needed for uncommon lab tests, biopsy, flow cytometry, digital same-day cytology, genetic analysis of tumor tissue, and autologous cancer vaccine production.
